On Saturday, August 1st from 1:00pm-4:00pm, the Geary County Historical Society will host a grand opening event for two exhibits at the Museum building, located at 530 N Adams.
The Historical Society's newest local history exhibit, Portrait of a County, which was funded by Freedom's Frontier National Heritage Area, will focus on photographs and the stories they tell of Geary County residents.Also opening Saturday is a traveling exhibition Declaration 1776: The Big Bang of Democracy from the Gilder Lehrman Institute of American History and funded by Humanities Kansas. Declaration 1776 will remain in Junction City for the month of August before it continues its tour across the state in celebration of America250.
