I.C. A. R. E. said 6 of 14 students are pictured that participated in the 2023-24 school year with the I.C.A.R.E. Pen Pal Project with older adults. in Geary County those adults reside at the Bicentennial Manor, Bartell Place, Brookdale Senior Living, and two members of the United Methodist Church.

The remaining eight students who participated last school year are now students at the Junction City High School. Each student &amp; older adult seniors were presented gift cards from the organization for their participation. Students also received community service hours toward graduation. 

This school year, Sandra Havel, JAG-K Teacher, have 32 students (Middle School &amp; 6th graders) participating in the Pen Pal Project.&nbsp;&nbsp;
