There will be a Veterans Parade on Saturday, Nov. 8 in Junction City. It will be a morning parade but the specific time still has to be determined.
The Military Affairs Director for the Chamber of Commerce, Rob Wilson, explained the parade will honor veterans. Fort Riley will be requested to participate with a military troop formation, helicopter flyover, mounted color guard appearance, military vehicles and the 1st Infantry Division Band. The Junction City High School JROTC and Marching band will be asked to participate along with representatives from veterans and community organizations.
Details on sign up procedures will be released in September.
Wilson is hopeful of making this an annual event.
