Junction City High School USD 475 junior Anthony Testa captured the Kansas State High School Activities Association Class 6A Regional Championship on Saturday. Testa crossed the finish line with a blistering time of 17:33.16 at Clapp Park in Wichita to claim first place out of 63 runners. By winning on Saturday, Testa became the second-straight Blue Jay to garner regional championship honors as Ethan Fontaine finished first overall in 2024.
Fellow junior Jacob Atkins also had a solid outing on Saturday as he wrapped-up competition in fifth place. On the girl’s side, Brittney Dibben had a banner day in Wichita, finishing 10th overall with a time of 20:48.06. The Blue Jays will next be in action at the Class 6A State Cross Country Championships in Lawrence on Saturday, Nov. 1.
