Geary County Commission Chair Trish Giordano stated on Thursday that two of the original applicants for the CVB Director job are still in the running.&nbsp; "The board requested the job additionally be posted through a Kansas tourism site.  So we extended the time to receive applications. "&nbsp;

The search for a new director for the Geary County Convention &amp; Visitor's Bureau was unsuccessful the first time around. So CVB Advisory Committee Chair Florence Whitebread said this week that they will try again. "We have opened up the process again because it didn't work the first time so we're looking. "

Whitebread added that more entities in the state of Kansas have been notified of the opening. She is hopeful that they will get more applicants from within the state that understand Kansas.&nbsp;

Officials interviewed three candidates the first time but did not hire any. The CVB is seeking a new director following the resignation of former director Michelle Stimatze.
