Three $500 grants will go toward proposals outlined during a community forum Monday in Junction City.

One came from a group of Junction City High School students and included an idea for a burn pit for bonfires  at the senior high school. Landscaping would be done by a gardening club at JCHS. The location on the JCHS property will be determined after a meeting with JCHS principal, G.G. Booth.

Thee second $500 grant will be used for a Did You Know campaign which inform the public online about Junction City facts.

The third grant for $500 will support a Growing Together idea for a community floral / fairy garden at the Montgomery Plaza on the north side of town.

Approximately 120 people participated in the forum.

As part of this effort Community leaders will meet Tuesday at 5 p.m. at the Munson Arts Education Building to talk about larger future community projects.
