New Health Order is issued for Geary County

Geary County Health Officer Tammy VonBusch issued a new health order that became effective Wednesday. 

Restrictions include mass gatherings of greater than 50 people that cannot properly social distance are prohibited. Restaurants and bars shall exercise proper social distancing. Any business or other locations found in non-compliance with the order, or a source of significant disease outbreak, or as determined and notified by the local public health officer shall close.

All businesses and locations are required to take proactive measures to ensure compliance with recommended business practices as published by the Centers for Disease Control and industry-specific guidance by trade groups. 

For special events the event organizer is required to develop an infection control plan with assistance from the Health Department to be approved by the local health officer. Any event found in non-compliance with the order,  or a source of significant disease outbreak or as determined and notified by the local public health officer, shall close.

The order is scheduled to remain in effect for 14 days.
