Geary County Convention & Visitors Bureau Advisory Committee members were uodated on multiple topics Wednesday.
--The CVB is interested in attracting World Soccer Cup fans to visit Geary County for a few days in July 2026..
--The CVB was asked to support the Junction City Wrestling Club annual tournament in January with a sponsorship. There was support during the meeting for a $1,000 sponsorship but that request goes to the Geary County Commission on Nov. 5.
The tournament will bring visitors to the county and will have the biggest benefit for restaurants and gas stations.
--The CVB has received sponsorship requests for fishing tournaments at Milford Lake including the Kansas Bass Nation state tournament, Catfish Chasers and Kansas Bass Network.
