On Friday, September 20th the Junction City Police Department arrested a second juvenile in connection with the ongoing investigation into social media threats involving USD 475 schools. The JCPD said as with the previous case, the juvenile was arrested, transported to the police department for processing, and later released to their parents.
The juvenile was charged with Aggravated Criminal Threat, a Level 5-person felony. Due to the age of the juvenile, no further details regarding their identity will be released.
Based on the findings of this investigation, JCPD continues to believe there was no intent of violence toward any of the schools' students or staff. At this time, they do not anticipate any additional arrests related to this case. However, the investigation remains ongoing.
