Trick-or-treating takes place tonight, October 31, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM in Junction City. Junction City police advise parents, please remember to be cautious and listen for the witch’s wail to mark the end of trick-or-treating!To help keep this Halloween fun and safe, here are a few quick safety tips:
Stay Visible: Add reflective tape or glow sticks to costumes and candy bags so drivers can see you.
Check Treats: Inspect all candy before letting kids dig in - only keep factory-sealed treats.
Watch for Traffic: Use crosswalks, stay on sidewalks, and remind kids to look both ways before crossing.
Costume Safety: Choose costumes that fit well and don’t drag on the ground. Avoid masks that block vision.
Stay Together: Young children should always trick-or-treat with an adult or in a trusted group.
Respect Homes: Only visit well-lit houses and never enter a stranger’s home or car.
