Geary County Emergency Management
Tuesday Afternoon update:
Confidence is increasing for a regional winter storm to impact the Central Plains and Midwest Friday-Saturday. Initial rain over northeast Kansas will transition to light snow through the day Saturday. Little to no snow accumulations are anticipated at this time for northeast Kansas, but that could change in the coming days.
Accumulating snow resulting in hazardous travel is most likely towards portions of Iowa, eastern Missouri, and into Illinois. If you plan to travel across these areas this weekend, it's important to stay up to date on the latest weather forecast and prepare for alternate travel plans.
