The Geary County Conservation District will host their 86th Annual Meeting on January 22, 2026 at the Senior Center on Spring Valley Road. It will begin at 6:30 with a free meal sponsored by the Geary County Banker’s Association.
Conservation District Manager Angela Beavers said that the agenda consists of a report of the District’s activities for 2025, the year-end financial accounting and the election of two members to the Board of Supervisors.
The highlight of the event will be the awarding The Banker’s Soil Conservation Award to Todd and Janice Erichsen and the Water Quality Award to Phillip and Kristen Goodyear.
Both operations have undertaken conservation projects this past year that have helped to preserve the vital natural resources we enjoy here in Geary County.
Everyone is invited to attend the meeting and learn more about the District’s efforts to partner with landowners, farmers and ranchers to protect, conserve, and restore Geary County’s invaluable natural resources. To make a reservation, please contact Angela at the District office at 785-238-4251, or text her at 785-210-4338 or by e-mail at angela.beavers@ks.usda.gov.
