RILEY COUNTY—One person died in a hit-and-run accident just after 5:30a.m. Thursday in Riley County.
According to the Riley County Police Department activity report, a semi driven by 48-year-old Shane Jungemann, Jefferson City, South Dakota, was traveling in the 700 Block of South 4th Street. The vehicle struck a 32-year-old man.
Just after 9p.m. Thursday police arrested Jungemann on requested charges of failure to report an accident involving a fatality. Jungemann if being held on a $15,000 bond, according to the RCPD. Police have not released the name of the victim.
