Geary County Commissioner Trish Giordano on Monday addressed the EMS where there has been a recent dispute over the financial numbers for the service which is jointly funded by the City and County.
She made it clear the County does not want to split the service and noted that the EMS issue has caused undue worry. She noted the way things are structured now is the best way to serve the community and the object of the county commission. She praised the Junction City Fire Department and EMS for building a tremendous organization and for being extremely effective. The County is not trying to make their own EMS.
Giordano noted that the County wants a detailed formulation or spreadsheet from the City on how they came up with the numbers that they're charging, and that has not been received yet. She added that she hopes it will be received soon. The agreement needs to be in place and transparent.
