Kansas Department of Health & Environment has provided updated blue green algae watch and warning advisories for lakes and reservoirs.
Milford Lake Zone C, the north end of the lake, is listed under a warning. The middle and southern sectors, Zones A and B are under a watch. A warning was issued for the Gathering Pond at Milford Lake, while a watch is in effect for the Geary State Fishing Lake.
Herington City Lake ( Old City Lake ) is covered by a watch while Herington Reservoir ( New City Lake ) is under a warning.
A watch means a harmful algal bloom is possible and may be present while a warning means a harmful algal bloom is expected or present.
