Junction City Commission news notes:

--There were recent improvements to Coronado Park with playground equipment. Commissioner Richard Pinaire has pointed out that something still needs to be done with the tennis court at that location.

--Pinaire has suggested that the City recognize former Blue Jay and K-State running back DJ Giddens. He was recently drafted by the Indianapolis Colts of the NFL. 

--Pinaire praised cleanup work done by a business, Wildcat Motors, and encouraged other businesses in the Grant Avenue area to do something as well.

--Commissioners heard a report on electric vehicle charging stations and that there is only one in Junction City. More are needed. Leon Osburn pointed out that there was an effort in the past to seek KDOT approval and that it should be tried again.

--City Manager Kim Zimmerman indicated that he plans to bring a power point presentation to the governing body asking for support ( money ) to make on specific street, alley and parks locations that need fixing.

--There will be an Adult Skate night on May 16 at Spin City.

--A Big Rigs and Trucks event will be hosted on May 17 at the 12th Street Community Center.
