Two people were arrested by Junction City police on drug related charges Saturday at 1106 Grant Ave. at the Hi Poynt Studios. Police said as a result of a search warrant, Darrin Battiste and Madison Verdoorn were arrested.
Verdoorn was arrested on a requested charge of Possession of a Controlled Substance, while Battiste was arrested on requested charges of Possession of Marijuana with the intent to distribute, Possession of a Controlled Substance, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and No Drug Tax Stamp.
Police said the search warrant and arrests were the result of an investigation into the alleged distribution of marijuana from Hi Poynt Studios over the past few months. This was a joint investigation conducted by the Junction City / Geary County Drug Operations Group.
