The Geary County Sheriff's Office reports they responded to two vehicle fires on Memorial Day, Monday, May 25.
-- At 5:28 p.m., Deputies responded to the 17000 block of Cutoff Road in reference to a single vehicle non-injury accident. Lori Brown of Dwight, Kansas was driving her green John Deere Gator westbound when the engine caught fire causing major damage. County fire extinguished the fire. No injuries were reported. The vehicle was removed by the owner.
-- At 5:54 p.m., Deputies responded to Freedom Park for a single vehicle non-injury accident. Yvonne Castro of Manhattan, Kansas was driving her white 2012 GMC Arcadia eastbound on I-70 mile marker 300 when the engine caught fire causing major damage. No injuries were reported. The vehicle was removed by the owner.
