RILEY COUNTY —Law enforcement are investigating a series of vehicle thefts and have recovered several stolen vehicles in Riley County.
On March 20, Officers filed a report of vehicle theft in the 400 block of Walters Drive. A 25-year-old woman reported an unknown suspect broke into her 2019 Kia Forte and damaged the steering column while attempting to steal the vehicle. The total estimated loss associated with this case is $2,000.
Officers filed a theft report in 1400 block of Cambridge Place. A 35-year-old man reported an unknown suspect stole his gray 2018 Nissan Altima. The total loss associated with this case is $8,000.
On March 21, officers filed a report of attempted vehicle theft, criminal damage to property and burglary in the 3000 block of James Avenue. A 32-year-old man reported an unknown suspect broke into and damaged the steering column and attempted to steal his 2016 Hyundai Elantra in the 3000 block of James Avenue. The total estimated loss associated with this case is $4,000.
Officers filed a report of criminal damage to property and attempted theft of property or services in the 3000 block of Kimball Avenue. A 25-year-old woman reported an unknown suspect broke into her 2018 Kia Optima and damaged the steering column in an attempt to steal the vehicle. The total estimated loss associated with this case is $2,000.
The Riley County Police Department activity report also shows officers were able to recover several stolen vehicles.
On March 21, a 63-year-old woman reported an unknown suspect stole her 2018 Kia Soul from the 2700 block of Vinewood Place. The total estimated loss associated with this case is $6,000. The vehicle has since been recovered.
On March 20, a 20-year-old man reported an unknown suspect stole his 2020 Kia Optima from the 4100 block of Spook Rock Way. The total estimated loss associated with this case is $9,000. The vehicle has since been recovered.
On March 22, Officers filed a report of vehicle theft in the 700 block of Pebblebrook Circle. A 26-year-old man reported an unknown suspect stole his 2018 Kia Soul. The total estimated loss associated with this case is $10,200. The vehicle was later recovered.
