T-Mobile Press Release
--
T-Mobile announces Junction City as one of its latest 25 Hometown Grant recipients. The $50,000 grant will go toward beautifying three alleyways in downtown Junction City, adding art, outdoor furniture, safety barricades and lighting to provide new opportunities for social interaction and play in the community. The project was submitted by Junction City Main Street.
"Receiving this grant is a pivotal moment for our downtown revitalization. It empowers us to reimagine and rejuvenate a space that normally gets left behind. Thank you for believing in the power of creativity to make this project possible,” said Jordan McCann, Executive Director, Junction City Main Street.
Through Hometown Grants, people in communities nationwide are kickstarting projects that make a real difference and help their towns thrive. Since launching its five-year commitment to small towns in April 2021, T-Mobile has awarded a whopping 325 communities across 47 states and over $14 million in funding.
The impact doesn’t stop there. To date, Hometown Grants has created more than 86,000 volunteer hours and provided more than $3 million in funding toward small business projects like revitalizing farmers markets, launching business incubators and improving main streets. To date, Hometown Grants has provided nearly $500,000 in funding to 11 towns across Kansas.
T-Mobile will host a check presentation on September 21 at around 10:30 a.m. CT after the Paint the Town Blue Community Parade at 917 N Washington St, Junction City KS 66441.
