Texas defeats Kansas State in women's basketball

MANHATTAN, Kansas (AP) — Charli Collier scored 27 points in a bruising low-post battle and No. 20 Texas defeated Kansas State 62-52 in the Longhorns’ Big-12 opener.

As they have done all season, the Longhorns pressured Kansas State into 34 turnovers, one shy of the K-State record, and picked up 38 points. Collier was 9 of 11 at the free throw line. She was 9-for-18 shooting, putting up contested shots in a crowd. Joanne Allen-Taylor added 14 points. Audrey Warren scored 12. Christianna Carr led the Wildcats with 13 points while Rachel Ranke added 10.
