National Weather Service issues a freeze warning

A FREEZE WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 1 AM TO 9 AM CDT WEDNESDAY...

Sub-freezing temperatures as low as 25 are expected for portions of central, east central, north central, and  northeast Kansas from 1 AM to 9 AM Wednesday.

Frost and freeze conditions could kill crops, other  sensitive vegetation and possibly damage unprotected outdoor plumbing.

Tender plants should be brought inside or covered to protect them from the cold.
