Phyllis Fitzgerald is coordinating a clean up at various Junction City locations on Friday. She said Soldiers from 1-6 Cavalry Regiment from Fort Riley will join her in clean up projects. Approximately 100 to 115 Soldiers are expected to participate. "So we'll be down around East Chestnut Street and we'll also focus on some of the parks in town and just pick up trash. If we've still got branches and limbs laying around we're just going to try to consolidate those in different piles in the different areas. " Fitzgerald added that City personnel would then pick up the branches and limbs.
Fitzgerald said they'll also be working in Coronado, Sertoma, Heritage, Fifth Street Parks and she also plans to look at Grant Avenue as well,. Work begins at 9 a.m. Friday.
