Roger K. Freeman was born in Junction City, Kansas July 16, 1957 the son of Ivan and Mary Lou (Curran) Freeman. He passed away April 25, 2025 at his home. He grew up in the Chapman community and graduated from Chapman High School. After graduation he worked for Walker Stone, after working for Walker Stone he moved to Gotebo, Oklahoma and drove for Squire Trucking.Following his time in Oklahoma he returned to Chapman and again worked for Walker Stone as a rock truck driver. He had also worked at the Chapman Coop and then drove a loader for Bayer construction. He also worked at Freeman Farms as well as a motor grader operator for Noble Township.
Roger was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his daughter Courtney Laun of Abilene and his son Kevin (Lindsey) Freeman of Dodge City, Kansas as well as his sister Tammy Riffel (Ryan) of Hope brother Jeff Freeman of Chapman and six grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.Roger enjoyed fishing and collecting toy tractors and oil lamps. He could often be found tinkering with old tractors in his shop but one of his greatest joys was picking on his grandchildren and feeding and watching birds.
The family will greet visitors from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m Thursday May 1st at the Londeen -Overlease Funeral Chapel 206 W. 5th street in Chapman. Funeral services will be Friday at 10:00 am at the Londeen - Overlease Funeral Chapel with Paula Scripter officiating burial will follow the service at the Sutphen Mill Cemetery.
