WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senator Jerry Moran (R-Kan.) – incoming Chairman of the Senate Committee on Veterans’ Affairs – has announced he will speak at the 80th Anniversary of the Battle of the Bulge Memorial Commemoration in Bastogne, Belgium, on Friday, December 13, 2024.

Sen. Moran is also leading the official Senate delegation to the ceremonies for the 80th Anniversary of the Battle of the Bulge in Bastogne, Belgium and Luxembourg. The bipartisan delegation includes Senators John Barrasso (R-Wyo.), Susan Collins (R-Maine), Kirsten Gillibrand (D-N.Y.) and Maggie Hassan (D-N.H.).

The Senate delegation released the following statement before departing for the 80th Anniversary of the Battle of the Bulge:

“Eighty years ago under the harsh conditions of winter, American troops held the line and fought back against Nazi Germany in the costliest American battle of World War II – the Battle of the Bulge. We are honored to represent the United States Senate at the 80th Anniversary of the Battle of the Bulge alongside WWII veterans and world leaders. Over the next several days, we look forward to recognizing the brave men and women of the U.S. Armed Forces who answered the call to serve and to pay our respects to those who made the ultimate sacrifice.”
