In celebration of 2026 being America's 250th anniversary the Geary County Conventon and Visitor's Bureau has created a Special Edition visitors guide that highlights notable people, places and stories of Geary County's history.
Geary was founded in 1855 as Davis County but was renamed in 1889 after John W. Geary, Kansas's 3rd Territorial Governor. The cover is dedicated to a collection of people and stories from Geary County.
Ten thousand copies have been produced. Get them free at the CVB, call 785-238-2885 or go to the CVB web site.
