Potential ideas for the former HD Karns / Junction City Middle School building in the central part of town were discussed at this week's Chamber of Commerce Board meeting.

EDC Director Justin Hoover wants to explore potential options. They ranged from top floor apartments and business incubator space to a community center and training space. One idea involved using the facility as a possible future location for the public library if officials there determine that it would be suitable to move that operation into the facility. Library Director Donna Porter noted that there have been conversations but no action has occurred.

Hoover suggested that a committee be formed to explore all the possibilities.

The building is currently vacant after the HD Karns school was moved out of it to a location in Grandview Plaza.
