Larry’s life began on December 1, 1941, the son of Lloyd Johnston and Evah Mae (Gibbons) Westerfield in Wichita, Kansas. He graduated from Valley Center High School Class of 1960. He married Bonnie Faye Edgmon on June 22, 1962, in Park City, Kansas. He worked as an engineer at Beechcraft until retirement. He loved his family and enjoyed hunting and gardening.
His loving family includes his wife, Bonnie of 58 years; children, Theresa (Jeff) Toews and Robin Bowen all of Whitewater, Crystal Westerfield of Irondale, Alabama, Becky (Devin) Kahle of Whitewater, Todd Westerfield of Benton, Kansas; ten grandchildren, Ashley (Brad) Anderson, Kristen (Brandon) Faul, Emily (Drew) Merritt, Curtis (Michaela) Toews, Casey Westerfield, Chance Bowen, Bryce Kahle, Chase Bowen, Lakin Kahle and Sage Westerfield; eight great-grandchildren, Natalie Worrell, Autumn Anderson, Jaxon and Karsyn Faul, Riley, Reagan and Nicholas Merritt and Charli Westerfield.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister, Sharon Westerfield. Larry passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Friday, January 29, 2021, at the age of 79 years old.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, February 12, at 2:00 p.m. at Whitewater Cemetery, Whitewater, Kansas. The family will gather for a Celebration of Life Service at Bonnie’s home following the graveside.
