GEARY COUNTY—One person was injured in an accident just after 2:30p.m. Monday in Geary County.
The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2015 Subaru Outback driven by Kyle Steven Olson, 42, Yorktown, Virginia, was eastbound on Interstate 70 just west of the U.S. 77 exit. The SUV rear-ended a 2019 Dodge Grand Caravan driven by Neal Andrew Wheatley, 53, Chapman, who had slammed on the brakes due to a ladder in road.
EMS transported Wheatley to Stormont Vail in Junction City. Olson was not injured. Wheatley was not wearing a seat belt, according to the KHP.
