Geary County Sheriff's Department release
DON'T PAY FROM A PHONE CALL:
The Geary County Sheriff's Office has received numerous reports from citizens saying they are being contacted regarding their registration process with the Department and they have a warrant.
The caller is demanding money stating the person has failed to register or submit to a DNA test and must pay.
DON'T DO IT!
The Sheriff's Office will NOT contact anyone via phone regarding a warrant, let alone asking for payment.
