DICKINSON COUNTY —Law enforcement authorities are investigating a violent altercation and have made an arrest.
Just before midnight Sunday, police responded to the Super 8 motel, 2207 North Buckeye Avenue, Abilene for the report of an earlier disturbance, according to a media release.
Officers learned that a physical confrontation had occurred in a hotel room between a man and woman.
As a result of the investigation, officers arrested 32-year-old Jonathan Munoz Mateo of Kansas City, Missouri on requested charges that include attempted 2nd degree murder and aggravated battery. He is being held on a $100,000 bond, according to online jail records.
EMS transported the woman to the hospital for treatment of her injuries and she was released.
