Junction City firefighters responded to a residential structure fire at 9:47 p.m. Saturday at 215 E. 3rd Street. According to the Fire Department three detached garages and multiple vehicles were fully involved on arrival.
Live power lines were found down throughout the scene. Firefighters went defensive on the backyard garages and vehicles while others went offensive on the main occupancy stopping the fire spread in the house.
The house was saved but a detached garage behind it and property between the house and garage burned along with multiple vehicles. The preliminary damage estimate was put at $10,000 for property losses and $500 for contents.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
