MANHATTAN – Law enforcement authorities are investigating an alleged case of child sexual assault in Manhattan and have made a third arrest arrest.
On November 24, officers filed a report for rape and aggravated criminal sodomy in Manhattan involving a 12-year-old girl as the victim and a 20-year-old male known to her as the suspect, according to the Riley County Police Department activity report.
Just after 11a.m. Tuesday, police arrested Brian Griffith, 20, of Ft. Riley in connection with the crime on requested charges c of rape and aggravated criminal sodomy. Griffith was issued a total bond of $250,000.00 and is confined in the Riley County Jail.
On Dec. 4, police arrested Zelond Benymon, 19, of Ft. Riley in connection with the case on requested charges that included 3 counts of rape and two counts of aggravated criminal sodomy.
On Nov. 30, police arrested Tavian Garrett, 23, of Manhattan in connection with the investigation on on requested charges that include five counts of rape and five counts of aggravated criminal sodomy.
Police released no additional details.
