Quality Play for All has donated $142,000 to help with upgrades at Hammond Park near the 12th Street Community Center.
This donation will be used to purchase additional playground equipment and upgrades to Hammond Park from ATHCO. Officials believe additional equipment for younger children will be a valuable addition, as well as the turf safety surface.
A check was presented during the city commission meeting Tuesday night. It concludes nine years of effort to support park improvements in the community, including including more than one-half million dollars in improvements for the Fifth Street Park.
