Junction City Blue Jay tennis competed in the Topeka Seaman Invitational on Wednesday night. The Blue Jays earned high finishes in each of their events to finish the tournament in third place as a team.
Coach Matt Mikheel said Hayden Diestelkamp finished the highest on the team with a 2nd place finish, going 2-1 on the day in the top singles bracket. Two events finished the day with a 2-1 record and earned 3rd place. Those were Chris Beers in the 2nd singles flight and the top doubles team of Alex Matthews and Cesar Edgerton Diaz Lorenzo.
In #2 doubles, Alan Leis and David Trammell finished in 4th place with a 1-2 record. The Blue Jays next travel to Lawrence on Wednesday, April 20. Matches will start at 3 pm at the Lawrence High School tennis courts.
