Herington Elementary School is Named a 2024 Challenge Award Recipient

On April 3rd, the Confidence in Kansas Public Education Task Force announced 100 Kansas schools that have been named recipients of the 2024 Challenge Awards. Herington Elementary was named a 2024 recipient. The Challenge Awards recognize schools for outstanding achievement and uncommon accomplishments of students based on the Kansas Assessment Program results in math and reading, especially those students of ethnic minority group and who qualify for free and reduced-priced meals.

"Herington Elementary School is so proud to be named a 2024 Challenge Award recipient! Our talented students and staff work hard day in and day out. This recognition is another reflection of the commitment from our students, staff, and stakeholders to the educational priorities the USD 487 board of education and district leadership have established. Herington Elementary School was honored to be named a 2024 National Blue Ribbon School previously this year and to now be recognized as a 2024 Challenge Award recipient is the icing on the cake.
