Manhattan— Authorities say a Friday morning fire in Manhattan was accidental.

Just after 8a.m., the Manhattan Fire Department was dispatched to 1621 Woodcrest Drive for a report of a fire in the garage, according to Deputy Chief Ryan Almes.

Upon arrival, crews found a one-story structure with light smoke showing. The fire was knocked down within five minutes.. No injuries were reported.

The one-story building contains three townhomes.  The fire was contained to one home with only smoke damage in the other two units. Loss is estimated at $20,000 to contents and $20,000 to the structure. The owner is listed as Judy Roland of the same address. The fire cause is accidental due to self-heating of stain-soaked rags.
