Geary County Commissioners learned this week during a Health Board meeting that the county's funding for the Women, Infant, Children ( WIC ( program ) has been cut by the State.
Commisioner Trish Giordano noted because of the loss of grant funding two employees would be losing their jobs. The program served more than 500 families last month. "I'm concerned about where they're going to go. '
Cuts are statewide but are the result of federal WIC funding reductions.
