There will be 1,300 apple pies that will be prepared for the Apple Day Festival at Fort Riley on Oct. 5.One thousand were made through a partnership with Junction City High School and volunteers will make 300 more this week.
The information was provided to a Military Affairs Council breakfast. Finished pies are frozen and stored at Kansas State University.
