RCPD: Corrections Sgt. to appear in Municipal Court for Disorderly Conduct

On a media release dated Friday, October 28, the Riley County Police Department states a Corrections Sergeant for the department had been issued a notice to appear in Manhattan Municipal Court.

Sergeant Justin Borge, 38, was issued a notice to appear for an incident which occurred on September 26, 2022 in the 300 block of Anderson Avenue in Manhattan while Borge was off-duty.

Borge is reportedly charged with disorderly conduct following a reported argument with another man at a business.

Kansas State University Police Department investigated the reported incident, an gave their findings to the  City of Manhattan Chief Prosecutor Mellissa Rundus who issued the notice to appear to Borge on Thursday.

RCPD Interim Director, Kurt Moldrup says, "We expect our employees to treat everyone with decency and respect, both on and off-duty. I trust Chief Prosecutor Rundus to gather all the facts about the incident and her process to make a just decision.”

Any internal discipline will be based on the findings of an investigation from the RCPD Internal Affairs Office.
