The Junction City Animal Shelter is conducting its annual “Clear the Shelter” campaign. The campaign is nationwide and runs through Sept. 10.

Vanessa Gray, the Director of the Junction City Animal Shelter, explained that through this campaign, the price to adopt a pet is $10. This nationwide effort is to push more people to adopt from their local animal shelters.

“We have been overcapacity for a while, and that’s why we are pushing this event and adoption,” Vanessa Gray said. “It’s important we can get some open space to help more and more animals that need our assistance.”

An application process is required if you want to adopt a pet. In some cases, the adoption process is done on the same day, but typically, it takes a couple of days for everything to be finalized.

The Junction City Animal Shelter is open from 1:00-6:00 p.m. each day. They are only closed on Wednesdays.
