Junction City police are investigating a double homicide

Junction City police have identified the two victims in the fatal shooting case on Wednesday. They were Blake McCoy, 26, Junction City and Jeremy John Brown, 42, a resident of Pottawatomie County. 

The investigation in the case is still active.

On Wednesday at approximately 12:34 p.m. the Junction City Police Department was dispatched to the 600 block of West Vine Street for a man with an suspected gunshot wound. Upon arrival, officers located two white men with gunshot wounds. Both were pronounced dead at the scene.

The first victim was 26 years old and was a resident of Junction City. The second victim was 42 years old and was a resident of Pottawatomie County.

Police said that their preliminary investigation suggests that these men  knew each other and there is no ongoing threat to the community. No further information about the identity of the two individuals will be released until the next of kin has been notified.
