Registrations are being accepted for the 28th annual Junction City Area Chamber of Commerce Christmas Parade sponsored by Eagle Radio and the Geary County Convention and Visitors Bureau. The parade is scheduled for Friday, Nov. 24th at 5:30 p.m.
The parade theme will be "A Christmas Carol" where you can bring your favorite holiday song to life.
There will be five awards including the $200 Mayor's Award for Best Use of Theme ( Classic Christmas ), which is sponsored by the Central National Bank, $150 Chamber Award for Best Commercial Float and the $150 County Commission Award for Best Non-Profit / Religious / Government Award which is sponsored by the Geary County CVB.
There will be the $150 Founder's Day Award for Creativity and Originality sponsored by DEL Motors and the $150 Youth Award for Youth Involvement sponsored by the Junction City Family YMCA.
