The final numbers have been reported for the 7th Annual Greater Geary Community Match Day. In 2025, there were 660 donors contributing to 60 nonprofit organizations.
From the general public, a total of $488,391.36 was donated. These donations were made by mail, online, or in person on October 21 at the Junction City Municipal Building. In addition to the public donations, there was $165,000 in matching funds. The grand total for this year's Match Day was $653,391.36. *This is the highest amount ever received, up from $605,000 in 2024.
“The Greater Geary County community came together again this year and opened their hearts and pocketbooks to support 60 local nonprofits on Match Day,” said Calvin Pottberg, Chairman of the Greater Geary Community Foundation. “Thank you to all the donors, the volunteers who participated, and the Greater Geary Community Foundation Board of Directors for helping make this happen. Thanks also to the City of Junction City employees for setting up the auditorium and providing all the technical assistance and equipment. We could not make this event happen without everyone working together, including the four local area foundations that provided the $165,000 in matching funds. It was a very successful effort by all involved. Thank you.”
The four local foundations that provided the matching funds were the R2B4 Bramlage Family Foundation, the Central Charities Foundation, the Crosby Family, and the Hoover-Koken Foundation.
