Acoustic Junction returns to St Joseph’s Historic Church for a night of music and community on Saturday. Food and drink will be sold at 6:30pm and music will begin at 7:00pm.  This Octoberfest themed event will feature three local music groups: The McDowell Barnburners, The Tallgrass Tunesmiths, and Chris Biggs and Ken Gustin. Baked goods and a beer list that includes: Free State Octoberfest, Heineken, Stormchaser, Free State IPA, and Hamm’s will also be available by donation.

Geary County Historical Society Curator Heather Hagedorn said all proceeds benefit the St. Joseph’s restoration project. Recent projects at the church include: new windows, roof repairs and the installation of electricity. Funds raised at this event will help cover costs for upcoming projects including: temperature control and plaster work.

St. Joseph’s Historic Church is owned by the Geary County Historical Society and the restoration is greatly supported by the McDowell Creek Community. To get to St. Joseph’s take I-70 to exit 307 and head south 2 miles. The church will be on the left. Carpooling is recommended as parking is limited.
