Junction City High School seniors were recognized for all of their hard work and accomplishments on Wednesday night in the auditorium at Junction City High School. The senior recognition night celebrated all the scholarship recipients and other awards from Junction City High School and USD 475 - Geary County Schools.
Collectively as a senior class, Junction City High School seniors were awarded $2.48 million in scholarships. The scholarships come from a variety of different local, state, and national organizations and colleges. Scholarships amounts ranged from $250 to $142,872.

Top scholarship amounts and other Junction City High School awards are listed below.
-- The recipient of the largest scholarship amount of $142,872 was senior Destiny Harborth. The scholarship was the Post 9-11 GI Bill.
-- The recipient of the United States Air Force Scholarship in the amount of $122,000 was Avery Florence.
--A $120,000 scholarship was awarded to Aniela Adjei from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. (Aniela Adjei received several other local scholarships as well).
-- A $112,000 softball scholarship from Mid America Nazarene was presented to Morgan Nabus. (Morgan Nabus also received several other local scholarships as well).
-- A $105,984 scholarship was awarded to Shyanne Nicholson from Arizona State University - Starbucks College Achievement Plan.
-- A Chapter 35 Grant scholarship in the amount of $103,024 was awarded to Sophia Tomlinson.
-- A $100,000 Rudd Foundation Scholarship was awarded to Ashley Caligiuri.
Local and State Awards/Scholarships
-- Bonecutter-Geary Community Schools Foundation $1,000 Scholarship for Valedictorian - Kayleigh Roberts
-- JCEA $500 Scholarship for Salutatorian - Luke Nelson
-- State of Kansas Governor's Scholars Top 1% of Senior Class - Ashley Caligiuri, Luke Nelson, Kayleigh Roberts, and Kai Walsh
-- Dale M. Dennis Excellence in Education $250 scholarship was awarded to Valentina Morales.
-- Kansas State High School Activities Association Citizenship Award - (Male) Grady Oentrich and (Female) Aubrey Goddard.
At the end of the ceremony, the Senior class representatives presented the Class Cup to the Junior class to carry on the traditions and senior standards at Junction City High School.
