The Junction City High School USD 475 girls bowling team claimed runner-up accolades at the Kansas State High School Activities Association Class 6A Regional at Royal Crest Lanes in Lawrence.
The Blue Jays, who scored 3,099 points to earn second overall out of 12 teams, advanced to the Class 6A State Bowling Championship, which will take place March 4 in Wichita. Individually, Riley Roberts wrapped-up competition by placing second with a series score of 676.
On the boys’ side, Keanu Shannon advanced to state by recording a 10th-place showing with a 643 series score. As a team, JCHS claimed a fourth place showing in Lawrence with 3,303 points.
