Junction City Municipal Court Judge Michael McKone has announced plans for an Amnesty Week beginning May 13th. He said during that week anybody can come to Municipal Court, and if they have a warrant with the Court it will then be cleared. "We won't ask any questions. We will clear that warrant." The Judge also cautioned about cases where there is a warrant with District Court, perhaps a felony, and also a warrant with Municipal Court, saying about the Amnesty Week, "I don't know if I would show up."
McKone said at Municipal Court they are trying to clear out some of their old warrants. "We want to treat people as openly, and honestly and fairly as we possibly can."
McKone spoke to the Junction City Commission on the subject this week.
