The City of Junction City has approximately 1.6 million remaining in ARPA ( American Plan Act Funds ). City officials must make decisions on how to spend the money in 2025.
$390,000 is committed to an airport runway renovation project which is contingent on a grant being received.
Discussion at their Tuesday night meeting by city commissioners ranged from $1 million on street improvements to upgrade infrastructure to enhancement of parks, fields. Examples on the latter ideas included needs for new roofs at the 12th Street Community Center and YMCA.
City manager Gerry Vernon and staff will work to fine tune a proposed list of projects.
