Heavy rain accompanied by severe thunderstorms swept through Geary County Friday afternoon.

Heavy rain fell in the county and some street flash flooding occurred in Junction City. Geary County Emergency Management Director Garry Berges confirmed 1.6 inches of rain fell on the west side of town.

Junction City Rodeo Association officials confirmed the rodeo scheduled Friday night will be held as planned. The rodeo arena was in good shape.
